GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Everyone knows the big names like Drew Bridges, Stephen Baldwin, Kameron Pfaff, and Casey Burns that take up spots on the Gene Taylor's roster.
Those boys will be off to college soon, though, and it will be up to the next generation to fill their shoes.
And what better way to learn from the best than to play with the best. Rising high school juniors like Owen Taylor and Tristan Lafferty share that opinion.
"It's good motivation," said Lafferty, a soon-to-be junior at GJHS. "[The older players] are where you want to be, so you just feed off of them."
"The biggest thing I've learned from them is they all play as hard as they can all the time," Taylor commented. "That's something I've picked up," he said.
14 of the 18 players on Gene Taylor's roster either graduated in 2012 or will graduate in 2013.
