GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. After forcing the "if necessary" championship game Tuesday night, Grand Mesa came back firing on all cylinders for the second straight night to earn the 13-6 win and district championship over Fruita.
Grand Mesa's' six-run first inning propelled them to the 6-0 lead, a jam Fruita could not work their way out of.
Grand Mesa held the lead to the end, coming out on top 13-6 to be crowned district champs and earn a trip to the state tournament.
