GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Fruita Monument hosted the Uintah Utes on Wednesday evening but could not overcome their errors, falling 11-3.
Even through the high winds, light rain, and splash of hail, the teams were able to play out their game. Fruita kept pace early, even returning from the hail delay to take the 3-2 lead in the 3rd inning. That would be all she wrote as Uintah came back with 9 unanswered for the win.
Fruita plays in a conference game against Durango on Friday at Suplizio Field.
The Central Warriors were also in baseball action. They came away with an 11-9 road win over Pueblo South for their sixth win of the season. The Warriors face Adams City and Bear Creek before facing off against 4A's number one Montrose Indians in SWL play April 1st.
