GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The head coach of the Central High School girls soccer team is taking on a new roll in the fall, adding head coach of the boys soccer team to his expanding resume.

Jacob Pingel worked as the JV boys coach for the past five seasons, but now he'll lead both varsity teams.

Central has struggled to get above the .500 mark in recent years.

Though the team will bel osing a few of their seniors, coach Pingel is confident that this coming school year will be one in which the Warriors can truly contend and maybe even lead the way.

"This year within the teams here in the Valley I think it's our responsibility to be competitive with those teams," Pingel said. "I don't think we really have to rebuild to do that, I think we've got a lot of key pieces in place to be able to do that."
