HS Football: Delta enters playoffs as 13th seed for second straight season

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Delta Panthers will be looking for respect this Saturday when they face (5) Holy Family.

The Panthers had a long playoff drought in the early 2000's. It wasn't until the last five years that they started to turn things around. Now they're entering back-to-back playoff runs, and just like last season, they're seeded in the 13th slot.

The Panthers will look to have a deja vu experience and come away with an upset to move on, and at this point, they know it's anyone's game.

"I think there's a number of teams, a pretty large number of teams that could win it," said head coach Ben Johnson. "Whoever gets hot at the right time and plays great defense and good offense I think could go a long ways."

(13) Delta plays (5) Holy Family on the road this Saturday at 1:00 PM.
