GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) The Palisade Bulldogs suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of the Delta Panthers in week eight, but Thursday night they got back on their horse with a 54-26 win over Eagle Valley.
It was a "Ramunno Bowl" as the two coaching brothers stood on opposite sides of the field looking to finish the night's chapter with a win.
Fortunately for younger brother Joe Ramunno, the Palisade Bulldogs had a dominant first half. It was plagued with turnovers courtesy of Eagle Valley, and each time the Bulldogs capitalized. By the time halftime hit, it was a running clock and a 47-7 lead in Palisade's favor.
In the second half, Eagle Valley came back strong, but it wouldn't be enough. They put out 19 points to Palisades single touchdown, but still lost out 54-26.
Palisade improves to 6-1 in the Western Slope League.
