GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Over 80 girls competed in the 5A girls' golf state championship, but Cherry Creek junior Calli Ringsby finished on top.

Ringsby led the way in both rounds, shooting a 73 in each for a 146 overall score to become the class 5A state champion. She also led Cherry Creek to the team title to defeat Arapahoe.

Through the success, she still keeps a humble attitude.

"You can never be perfect," said Ringsby. "You can never perfect the game, so it's an ongoing struggle to get better, and you'll never be the best; you'll never be the best at golf. You just have to keep working and working."
