GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. High school volleyball got underway locally on Thursday, beginning with a District 51 match-up that pitted Palisade against Grand Junction. Each team struggled a season ago with sub-.500 records, but were hoping for a better start here.
Grand Junction won sets one and three, but the Bulldogs went off in the fourth game, taking it 25-12, and then took the final game 15-12, to win it 3-2.
Over at Central High School, the Warriors welcomed in Eagle Valley. Unfortunately, Central played from behind the entire match and couldn't get the points they needed, falling in three games (25-13, 25-11, 25-21).
