GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Fruita Monument traveled to Central for a varsity wrestling match, and the Warriors hoped to upset a Wildcats team that has been a dominant force throughout District 51.

Though Fruita was first on the boards, Central fought their way to a 24-9 lead, but Fruita would respond by taking three straight bouts for a one-point lead. From that point on the night was a back-and-forth battle, in yet another pin-heavy match.

In the end, Fruita Monument pulled away with the win after two straight pins coming from Van Hoose and Konrad.
