GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Henry Garcia was the name of Monday night’s game. The first baseman was on fire from the plate, notching two home runs and six RBI in the Grand Junction Rockies 13-5 win over the Helena Brewers.
Garcia’s offensive efforts were not the only ones putting Grand Junction over the top. The Rockies stayed consistent, scoring in each inning except the seventh, with nearly every player touching the plate.
From the mound Kyle Freeland got his second start of the season. He went three innings, giving up four hits and one run while striking out two. Craig Schlitter came in on relief, filling in with a standout performance. He gave up just one hit and no runs and struck out four batters. Schlitter earned the win to improve to 1-1 with a 2.87 ERA.
The Rockies have a day off before heading to Missoula on Wednesday for a three-game series.
