Kris Mort will retire after 2012 season
Kris Mort has announced that she will retire after her 19th season at the helm of the Mavericks' softball team.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Kris Mort has announced that she will retire after her 19th season at the helm of the Mavericks' softball team.
Mort leaves a hefty legacy behind. Overall, she has a 516-329 record, seven appearances in the NCAA Regional Tournament, and three RMAC titles. In 2006 and 2007, Mort's teams led the nation in home runs, and in 2001, the Mavericks broke the record for homeruns in a season with 98. In 2000, Mort's squad set a franchise record with 50 wins and an appearance in the Elite Eight.
Mort will stay on as the full-time Assistant Athletics Director at CMU.
