MLB Draft: Colorado Rockies select Gray, McMahon, Blalog on day one

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Day one of the 2013 MLB Draft allowed the Colorado Rockies the chance to make two additions to their team.

In round one, the team selected right-handed pitcher out of the University of Oklahoma Jonathan Gray as their third-overall pick. The 6-foot-4 21-year-old with the 100 mph fastball is 10-2 with a 1.59 ERA in 119 innings.

The Rockies added third baseman, left-handed hitter Ryan McMahon at number 42 in Round Two. The 18-year-old out of SMater Dei High School in California hit .353 with 11 doubles, four home runs, and 23 RBIs.

To close out the day, Colorado snagged right-hander Alex Blalog out of the University of San Francisco with the 70th pick in Competitive Balance Round B.

Day two of the Draft continues with Rounds 3-10 on Friday.
