GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Colorado Mesa baseball player Matt Williams was named RMAC and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association pitcher of the week.
The senior received this award after pitching a complete-game shutout in a 2-0 win over Regis Jesuit on the road, marking his first win of the season.
Williams hasn't allowed a single run in his last 13.2 innings pitched.
"I'm pretty pumped about [the honors]," he said. "I've never really gotten an award like this, so that's awesome. Just winning helps the cause, and that's what I aim to do. I just aim to go out there and compete and that's it."
