Mavs home opener on Friday, vs. Montana St.-Billings

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- After 11 days of practice, the Mavericks baseball team is set to resume regular season play.

The Mavericks play host to Montana State-Billings for a four-game series this weekend.

Friday's home opener at Suplizio Field will be their first game since the season-opening weekend.

Head coach Chris Hanks says the Mavs will go with a "three-game starting pitching rotation" for now. Matt Williams will pitch game one, Aaron Corwin in game two, and Joey Danner for game three. The starter of the series finale will be determined on Sunday.

Friday's game begins at 2:30pm.

Prior to Saturday's doubleheader at 12pm, the Mavs will present CMU-graduate Jeff Popick and senior Braden Box with their All-American plaques from last season.
