GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Mavericks men's soccer team isn't always in the spotlight at Colorado Mesa.
The 2012 squad isn't following that conventional mindset, though.
The Mavs are 6-2-0 in RMAC play thus far in the 2012 season. CMU hasn't finished a season in the past four years with a conference record north of the .500 mark.
Colorado Mesa won all three conference games on their schedule last week, and they did so on the road for all three contests.
Due to that success, the Mavericks swept the weekly awards given out by the RMAC. Sophomores Micah Conrads and Phil Neuwirth were name the conference's defensive and offensive players of the week, respectively.
Conrads made five saves en route to posting three shutouts last week. Meanwhile, Neuwirth notched the game winner against Adams State and then assisted on the game winner over UC-CS.
The Mavs play their next four games at home, starting Friday against Colorado Mines, who is 4-2-0 in RMAC play this year.
