GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The men's and women's basketball squads from Colorado Mesa seem to be sitting on opposite ends of the spectrum on the eve of the postseason.

Here's the situation for the Lady Mavs: they are the top seed of the RMAC tournament; they lost just one game in conference play all season; they lost just one game all season; they own first place in the South Central rankings; they are the fourth-ranked team in the nation.

Compare that to the Colorado Mesa men: they finished the regular season at 17-9; they are the fifth seed in the RMAC tournament; they fell completely out of the most recent South Central regional rankings; they've lost four of their last five contests.

Both teams play the first round of the RMAC Shootout on Tuesday at 7pm. The No. 4 Lady Mavs host Regis, the eighth seed in the tournament, at Brownson Arena.

The Mesa men travel to CSU-Pueblo in a battle between the fifth and fourth seeds of the tournament.
