GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The volleyball team at Colorado Mesa University is more than ready to face their first opponents on Friday.

The Mavericks are scheduled to play their first four games of the fall in the Oredigger Classic at Colorado Mines this weekend.

After a disappointing season last year, and more than two weeks of practice so far this fall, head coach Dave Flemming is anxious to see his group of girls play another team.

"We're all really anxious to see that we are better [than last year]," Flemming said on Thursday. "I think we'll prove that [we are] this weekend," he added.
