Mavs wrestling falls in final four matches

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The Mesa Mavericks wrestling team split the first four matches with the Western State Colorado Mountaineers, but they couldn't hang on in the last four of the night.

In the 157s, Jon Gappmaier pulled out the win over his Mountaineer opponent, followed by another CMU win in the 165s.

But when #2 Elliot Copeland of WSCM came into the picture, his team never looked back, going on to win the final four matches en route to a 21-14 win.

The Mavericks ended their 13 dual match win-streak. dropping to 18-2 overall.
