GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Colorado Mesa wrestling team has the most Preseason All-Conference wrestlers (4) on their roster of any team in the RMAC.

Two of the four are reigning RMAC champions, Nick Peterson and Paco Retana, and the others are Jon Gappmaier and Dylan Granard.

The Mavs also have five different high school state champions joining their team this season.

Needless to say, the expectation is success and a much higher level of success than in years past, says coach Chuch Pipher.

"We felt like how we finished last year, we're not satisfied with that," said Pipher on Tuesday.

"Our biggest and most important [goal] is to finish stronger than what we did last year," he added.

The Mavs begin their season at the Cowboy Open hosted by the University of Wyoming on Saturday.
