DENVER, Colo. (KKCO) - Shortly after the Denver Broncos team practice at Dove Valley, Denver Broncos star linebacker Von Miller was handed a six-game suspension.
Reports indicate the suspension could have been much worse, but the NFLPA and the NFL were able to come to a six-game agreement.
"Although my suspension doesn't result from a positive test, there is no excuse for my violations of the rules," Miller said. "I made mistakes and my suspension has hurt my team, Broncos fans, and myself."
The penalty puts him out for the games against Baltimore, New York, Oakland, Philadelphia, Dallas, and Jacksonville. He will return for Denver's Week 7 game against the Colts.
As the starting linebacker in 2012, Miller registered 18.5 sacks, 68 tackles, one interception, and six forced fumbles.
