GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The M.O. of the seventh ranked Lady Mavericks basketball team this season is put the opponent to rest in the first half, and play smart in the second half.

That quickly changed last weekend. The Mavericks beat CSU-Pueblo and UC-Colorado Springs by a combined five points. One point over CSU-Pueblo, and four points over UC-CS are the two smallest margins of victory for the Mavs all season.

Sharaya Selsor, the Mavs best shooting guard, says the team games served as a reminder of how hard it was to start the season out undefeated.

"We were able to learn lessons, really valuable lessons that you would learn in a loss, but we didn't lose," Selsor remarked.

No. 7 CMU hosts Western State on Saturday.
