GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - The Grand Junction Rockies came out swinging and put up a quick 5 runs in the first inning, including home runs by Julian Yan and Chris Cowell.
But this time slow and steady won the race. The Ogden Raptors came back, putting up six runs by the fourth to tie the game.
Then in the bottom of the fourth, Julian Yan's second homer and a sacrifice out from Jason Stolz brought the team up 9-6. It still wouldn't be enough.
The game was tied at 9 in the ninth inning, forcing extra innings where the Raptors were able to put up just one run that would seal the deal. They take game two of the series 10-9.
The teams play again tomorrow afternoon at Suplizio at 2:05 PM.
