Orchard Mesa's Major Girls team becomes 1st Dist. #1 Champ

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Major Girls team from Orchard Mesa Little League finished their undefeated sweep of the District 1 Tournament on Monday night.

Orchard Mesa defeated Fruita Little League 9-3 in the Championship game.

"We're pretty happy beacause we worked hard throughout this tournament," said Melissa Gellermann after Monday night's victory. "The other teams weren't easy to beat, ... and we worked our hardest to beat them."

Orchard Mesa advances to the District 3 Tournament which begins on the 13th.

    Another competitive team winning a championship! Congrats Lady Cobras! It just does not seem fair for the other kids who work hard to play softball and dont make the all star team cause they are not on the competitive team!

        @ mama bear, not all the girls on the team play competive ball and they ALL work really hard!!!
