GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The second high school football rankings of the 2012 fall season were released on Tuesday.
The Denver Post media and coaches' poll didn't think that Grand Junction has done enough to move up above 8th in Class 5A.
However, Rifle and Palisade both moved up from their preseason statuses. Rifle received four first-place votes and overtook the top-rank in the Class 3A. Palisade moved up just one spot to third, yet they are the only team in the top-four to receive no first-place votes.
Below are the notable rankings for Grand Valley/Western Slope teams:
Class 5A:
Grand Junction - 8th
Class 4A:
Montrose - 17th
Durango - 20th
Class 3A:
Rifle - 1st
Palisade - 3rd
Class 2A:
Olathe - 13th
Class 1A:
Hotchkiss - 1st
Cedaredge - 16th
