GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Monday night marked the 2013 High School Marching Band State Championships, and the Palisade marching band had their shot at a title tonight.

They were one of five finalists competing at the championship that was held for class 1A through 3A right here at Stocker Stadium.

Each team performed in front of hundreds of onlookers, but in the end just three teams from each class were named the new state champion.

The Bulldogs - who entered in first place - shared the visual award with fellow competitor Centaurus, but when it came to the trophy, Centaurus edged out Palisade for the win, while the Bulldogs finished in second overall with less than a point separating the two.

As for 1A, the Western Slope's very own Cedaredge Bruins stood out to earn their way to a state title.
