GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Day one of the Grand Junction Rockies inaugural season did not go, necessarily, as planned.
According to Rockies Pitching Coach, Ryan Kibler, though, game two's starter, Alving Mejias, is the man for the job of getting win number one in the franchise's history.
"[We saw] maybe some jitters last night, [but] Mejias is the guy to come in and be the matured veteran," Kibler said in an interview prior to Tuesday night's game. "He knows what makes him good and he knows how to go out and execute it. And I think that's exactly what we need tonight."
The Rockies wrap up their opening series with the Ogden Raptors on Wednesday.
