GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Ben Waldrip's late-game heroics kept the Grand Junction Rockies tied for first in the South Division of the Pioneer League.
The Rockies defeated Billings 4-3 on Tuesday night courtesy of Waldrip's 2-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning.
The Rockies couldn't get much else going on the evening. The Mustangs' catcher, Wagner Gomez, caught three different base-runners stealing second.
The Rockies are now 19-16 on the season, tied with the Ogden Raptors. Only three games remain in the first half of the season.
