GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Rockies are a mere 4 days away from starting their inaugural season on the Western Slope.

Before the Rockies get down to business with 76 games in just about two and a half months, though, they took time on Wednesday night to introduce themselves to their new fan base.

All the Rockies' players and coaches, including the Grand Valley's newest member David Dahl, spent time taking pictures and signing autographs for their devoted fans. It was their first chance to give back to the community that has embraced the franchise's arrival with open arms.

"It's really awesome," said 12-year-old Elliot Vanmeter of the opportunity to meet the players. "I can't wait to see them play. They seem like really nice guys."
