Team Colo. in line to win W. Zones for 1st time since '09

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - It was day three at the 2012 Western Zone Age Group Championships, and though Team Colorado did not grab any records, they were able to stay on top of the standings.

Five of their swimmers took first in day 3, while 15 others came in 2nd or 3rd place. In the 13-14 Boys 400 Meter IM, Colorado completely swept the first three spots.

But Team CO has not always dominated the competition. Pacific California has seen their time in first place, while Colorado has not made a visit to the top since 2009. The two teams are in a close race, having 805.50 and 820 points respectively.

Competition ends Saturday evening. Admission to the El Pomar Natatorium at Colorado Mesa is open to the public.
