GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The year 2012 gave sports fans all across the state of Colorado something to remember.

Whether it was Peyton Manning becoming a Bronco or, for Western Slope sports fans, the Cedaredge Bruins winning their first state football championship, there's a lot to talk about if you're counting down the best of 2012.

Follow KKCO 11 Sports' roundtable discussion with Jamie Hamilton, Mike Krueger, Jim Davis and Greg Wentzel on what they say is the Top 12 Stories of 2012.

Under the list of KKCO 11 Sports Director Phil Stafford, the phenom from Birmingham. Alabama, David Dahl holds down the No. 5 spot.

The first round draft pick of the Colorado Rockies in 2012 made quite the impressive debut in rookie league this past summer.

Dahl was named the Pioneer League's Player of the Year and accrued myriad other national awards for an incredible season that showcased a .379 batting average with nine dingers and 57 runs batted-in.

From July 17th through August 15th, Dahl notched a hit in 27 consecutive games. The 18-year-old was just five games shy of tying the Pioneer League record of 32 consecutive games with a hit.
