Top 12 of 2012: GJ Rockies make the Pioneer League playoffs

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The year 2012 gave sports fans all across the state of Colorado something to remember.

Whether it was Peyton Manning becoming a Bronco or, for Western Slope sports fans, the Cedaredge Bruins winning their first state football championship, there's a lot to talk about if you're counting down the best of 2012.

Follow KKCO 11 Sports' roundtable discussion with Jamie Hamilton, Mike Krueger, Jim Davis and Greg Wentzel on what they say is the Top 12 Stories of 2012.

Under the list of KKCO 11 News' Sports Director Phil Stafford, No. 11 belongs to the Grand Junction Rockies making the 2012 Pioneer League Playoffs.

Known under the brand of "Purple Push," the Rockies finished the regular season at 43-33, their first winning season in team history dating all the way back to the Casper Ghosts.

The Rockies ultimately lost in three games to the Ogden Raptors in the South Division Championship, but what a way to start their new lives in the Grand Valley.
