GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The year 2012 gave sports fans all across the state of Colorado something to remember.
Whether it was Peyton Manning becoming a Bronco or, for Western Slope sports fans, the Cedaredge Bruins winning their first state football championship, there's a lot to talk about if you're counting down the best of 2012.

Manning's success this year could easily have made this story the top story of the year in Colorado sports. However, there are still many great local stories from the Western Slope ahead in the countdown.
Nontheless in 15 games this season Manning has passed for 4,355 yards and a Broncos club-record 34 touchdowns.
Manning underwent multiple neck surgeries that caused him to miss the entire 2011 season. On Wednesday, Peyton was selected to his 12th Pro Bowl, which is a new record for a quarterback and he is also the first quarterback in NFL history to make the Pro Bowl after missing the previous season due to injury.
