#2 Bulldogs Run All Over Woodland Park

GRAND JUNCTION - After a slow start at Stocker Stadium on Friday night the number two Palisade Bulldogs finally got the motor running in what became a blowout victory over the Woodland Park Panthers 32-16.

The opening quarter went scoreless, but it was a key defensive play at the end of the first quarter that put the momentum in Palisade's corner for good. Jake Appling ran across the center of the field to pick off a pass and returned it to the 15 yard line.

The interception set up the opening touchdown, a three yard run by Aaron Wagler to give the Bulldogs a 6-0 lead after a blocked extra point try.

Zach Adair got involved when he took a handoff 48 yards for his first touchdown of the season to give Palisade a 12-0 lead. Wagler scored three touchdowns in the game and added his second just before the half on a 51 yard run to go up 18-0.

Jesse Brannon returned the opeing kick 85 yards to the Panthers 10 yard line but the Bulldogs were unable to score on the drive.

Wagler led the Bulldogs by rushing for 112 yards on 18 carries to go with his trio of touchdowns.
