Turnovers Key Central Loss To Rocky Mountain

GRAND JUNCTION - Handing the football to one of the state's strongest offenses is dangerous. Giving them the ball five times on turnovers proved to be fatal.

Central(2-2) fell 29-6 on Saturday at Stocker Stadium to the Rocky Mountain Lobos(4-0) who have scored nearly at will against their competition this season. Sophomore Holden Reed threw four interceptions and fumbled once for the Warriors.

Lobos quarterback Bryan Peters, who is being pursued by several Division I programs, led the way with four touchdown passes. Three came in the first half as Rocky Mountain opened a 20-0 lead heading into the break.

Central's defense would stiffen in the second half but the offense was crippled with turnover after turnover.

The Warriors are back at Stocker Stadium next week for homecoming as they begin Southwestern Conference play against the Fruita Wildcats.
