CEDAREDGE, Colo. - The only two state titles that Cedaredge High School has come courtesy of the school's band. None of the athletics programs have ever won a state championship, but that could change in the near future.

Rich Stubler was hired this past off-season to take over as head coach of the Cedaredge football program. Stubler has 37 years of prior coaching exprience, 22 of those years as a coach in the Canadien Football League. Most recently Stubler was the head coach of the Toronto Argonauts in 2008.

So why is a former professional football coach now calling a small town in Colorado his home? He said he just needed a bit of a break.

This isn't Stubler's first stint as a head coach at the high school level in Colorado. Stubler's career got started as the head coach of the Roaring Fork Rams back in 1971. He coached there for three seasons and guided the Rams to a state championship before leaving the program for a job at the University of Colorado.

With the new head coach in town, the Bruins are expecting to win ball games and are even making a goal of getting back to the state title game.
