GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Last year the Central Warriors football team earned Valley bragging rights when they defeated both the Grand Junction Tigers and the Fruita Monument Wildcats. But they still fell short in the hunt for a Southwestern League title.
This year Warriors head coach Vern McGee feels that the playing field is more even this year but a SWL title is still the main goal. And to help McGee reach that goal in 2009 will be returning starting quarterback Holden Reed.
Reed, a senior, added about 15 pounds of muscle in the off-season due to a rigorous workout routine. And although the Warriors have put in a lot of hard work to prepare for the upcoming season, they still know when to let loose and have a little fun.
