Tigers shutout Wildcats for first win

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Grand Junction football team earned its first win of the season with a shutout over the Fruita Monument Wildcats on Saturday night at Stocker Stadium.

Tigers quarterback Andy Willett rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Tigers to a 13-0 victory. The Tigers defense also held the Wildcats A-11 offense to under 40 yards of total offense in the rivalry game.

The Tigers (1-3) are now 1-0 in the Southwestern Conference. Their next game is on Saturday, October 3 at Skyline High School at 4:00 p.m.

The Wildcats (2-2) will play again on Friday, October 2 in another SWC rivalry game when they face the Central Warriors at Stocker Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
