MONTROSE, Colo. - (KKCO) The eigtht-ranked Indians started slow but pulled away from the Wildcats, winning 42-13 in Montrose on Friday night.
Jordan Passehl put Montrose (7-1, 2-0) on the board first with a touchdown run. Fruita Monument (2-6, 0-4) answered back with a touchdown, their first points in the last five games.
Nathan Robertson put the Indians on top for good, after he scrambled his way into the endzone to make it 14-7. On the Wildcats' ensuing drive, Travis Duffle picked up a fumble and returned it all the way to the endzone to make it 21-7.
Montrose plays Grand Junction at Stocker Stadium next Friday night. Fruita Monument plays at Poudre on Saturday.
