GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - (KKCO) After a three a day wait for the weather, the #32 Tigers and #1 Bruins finally squared off in the opening round of the 5A soccer playoffs on Saturday.

Top-seeded Cherry Creek jumped out to a 2-0 lead early in the first half, but the Tigers answered back with goals from Brendan Ryan and Tim Hofer. The Bruins netted a goal just before halftime to take a 3-2 lead into intermission.

Injuries took their toll on Grand Junction in the second half. Cherry Creek added two more goals to lead 5-2. They went on to win by that score and advance to the round of 16 where they will play #16 Rangely.

The Tigers finish the season 11-4-1.
