PALISADE, Colo. - (KKCO) For the first time in John Arledge's tenure as the Palisade Bulldogs head coach his football team is entering the 3A State Playoffs as the 16th seed.

The Bulldogs (6-4) finished the regular season in fourth place in the Western Slope League but still earned the at-large bid to the 3A tournament. The Bulldogs were given the 16th seed and will be facing the number one team in the state Pueblo Central.

Palisade's game against Pueblo Central (10-0) will be on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at Dutch Clark Stadium.

Even though the Bulldogs have the top ranked team for an opening round opponent, coach Arledge and his players feel confident they can pull the upset.
