FRUITA, Colo. - The Thunderridge junior varsity girls basketball team may be better than most varsity squads in the state of Colorado.
The Grizzlies JV girls proved it with a convincing six point win over the Palisade Bulldogs on Thursday afternoon 46-40 at the Wildcat Invitational.
Thunderridge had two players with more than 15 points to fuel the victory.
Palisade was led by Kendra Barnes who scored 12 points in defeat. Amy Austin helped out with 10 points for the Bulldogs.
Palisade will continue play in the Wildcat Invitational on Friday afternoon in the 2:45 game against the ninth ranked Central Warriros.
Thunderridge's JV girls will continue play in the Junior Varsity tournament on Friday against Fruita Monument's JV team at 6:15 p.m.
