Tigers split double-header at Durango

DURANGO, Colo. (KKCO) -- The Grand Junction Tigers boy's basketball team swept its weekend of SWL games with a 57-39 win over the Durango Demons in Durango on Saturday afternoon.

Tyler Winder had a game-high 21 points for Grand Junction (9-4, 2-0).

The Tigers will play at SWL-rival Montrose on Friday. Durango (5-7, 0-2) will play at Fruita on Friday.

The GJHS girls team came up just short losing 46-44 to Durango in the first game of the double-header.

Both teams are now 8-5 on the season and 1-1 in conference. The Tigers play at Montrose on Friday while the Demons travel to Fruita.
