Junction hangs on to beat Montrose

MONTROSE, Colo. (KKCO) -- In a battle of a pair of 2-0 SWL teams, the Grand Junction Tigers came out on top 57-51 over the Montrose Indians in Montrose on Friday night.

Jesse Smith led Grand Junction (10-4, 3-0) with 16 points. The Tigers host Mountain Vista on Saturday at 2:30.

Niko Youngren scored a game-high 28 points for Montrose (10-5, 2-1). The Indians play at Central on Thursday in another SWL contest.
