GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Central Warriors are celebrating their second SWL title in as many years, but they're surprised to be doing so.

Warriors head coach Laurence Gurule figured this would be a down year for Central because they only had four varsity wrestlers returning from last season.

I didn't expect this, Gurule said of his team defending their SWL title over the weekend.

"There were some tournaments we didn't do very well," admitted Gurule.
"But what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, and we tried to echo that to the kids a lot."

State Regionals take place this weekend, included below is a list of Regional sites for Grand Valley teams.

Class 5A
Site - Loveland HS
Teams competing - Central

Site - Standley Lake HS
Teams competing - Grand Junction, Fruita Monument

Class 4A:
Site - Montrose HS
Teams competing - Montrose, Palisade, Delta, Rifle
