GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Teams continue to get in work before conference play hits, while others are already working to push their way up the league charts.
In week three, the Cedaredge Bruins had a different focus - playing the game they love, not worrying about the wins and losses, and honoring three Cedaredge High School athletes.
The blue and white were able to play strong in front of hundreds of fans who came out to show their support for the team, the families, and the community. In the end they powered to a 42-0 victory over Dolores.
Quarterback Trent Walker was first to score on a 4 play, 69 yard, 40 second drive. He immediately pointed to the sky in remembrance of his friends affected by the tragedy.
The team continued to play through the adversity, with Peter Williamson putting out solid runs, Xander Camp scoring two touchdowns, and the rest of the team doing their part on offense and defense.
