GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Fruita Monument Wildcats are perhaps the biggest beneficiary of the holiday break that interrupts the winter sports schedule.

This season senior forward Spencer Fair was the only returning starter from the Wildcats 21-4 squad of 2011-12.

As the Wildcats get ready to kick off the 2013 portion of their schedule, their younger roster says they've gained a lot of confidence after their first nine games and additional weeks of practice during the break.

"That chemistry is going to be a big factor," said junior Devin Winstanley.

"We're getting [experience with one another] every day, so good things are going to happen," added Winstanley.

The Wildcats play at Piedra Vista on Thursday.
