GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Fruita Wildcats may have had just one win on the season before Tuesday, but you wouldn't know it by the way they performed against Grand Junction.
After taking the opening set against the Tigers, 25-22, on GJ's home court, the Wildcats fought off a tough fight from Junction to take the second set as well, 27-25.
In the third set, Grand Junction held a 22-20 lead as the teams entered the final points. Fruita managed another rally to bring it to a 23-23 tie, and then finished the match on a bobbled return from the Tigers, 25-23.
The Wildcats are now 2-3 overall, 1-0 in SWL, while the Tigers are now under .500 at 3-4, 0-1.
