GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - For most people high school wrestling season ends with winter, but not in the Grand Valley.

Central High School opened it's gym Saturday for two last duels, but there was a twist. Their opponents were from Germany.

A host of German high school wrestlers descended upon Grand Junction for an "international friendly" of sorts, where state and national champions from Germany would go against the very best wrestlers the Grand Valley had to offer.

The US team got ahead early, winning two quick matches against German national champions.

As the duels wore on, though, the Germans proved to be too much for the valley wrestlers.

At the end the Germans held a slim 59-51 point advantage, and won the duel.
