GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Grand Junction hosted Montrose for their first meeting of the season. Both teams stood with two losses, and both teams needed nothing but wins in order to keep pace with SWL-leading Fruita Monument.

Though the Tigers were first to score on a Tyler Heinsma RBI, the Indians had the final say.

Montrose pitcher Tyrus Lopez got himself out of a bases-loaded jam early in the game. Then he finished it off retiring the final six Grand Junction batters while putting up the game-winning RBI.

Montrose improves to 5-2-0. Grand Junction drops to 3-3-0. The two play again Tuesday at Montrose High School.
