PALISADE, Colo. A year ago, the Bulldogs went 10-2 under head coach Joe Ramunno in return to the school.
That includes a first-round playoff win over Lutheran, followed by a devastating three point loss to The Classical Academy a week later.
If you saw this team play last year, you saw a hard-nosed and fundamentally sound team.
Even though they lost pretty much all of their offensive skill starters, the rest should fill in nicely and continue to run a surprisingly exciting attack in one of the more competitive western slope leagues.
"That's the good thing about our league," Ramunno said, "it's very tough. It makes it good. You got great coaches. The good thing is we got a lot of young guys that can play, but just haven't had a lot of chances because we had a great group of seniors last year that stepped in there."
Palisade begins its season on the road against the team they last saw and knocked them out of the playoffs: The Classical Academy on August 29th.
